How we process rice
Twelve stages, in order.
Each stage runs against the mill’s own production requirements and any specification confirmed with the buyer.

Paddy receiving
Paddy is received at the mill and weighed in.

Lot identification
Each intake is identified lot-wise for traceability through processing.

Incoming inspection
Paddy is assessed on arrival before it is taken into process.

Pre-cleaning
Straw, dust and foreign matter are separated from the paddy.

Soaking and parboiling
Soaking and parboiling on the INDUSS system.

Controlled drying
Parboiled paddy is dried back to milling condition.

De-husking and milling
Husk is removed and the paddy is milled on the Satake line.

Whitening and polishing
Bran layers are removed to the required degree of polish.

Grading and Sortex
Size grading followed by optical colour sorting.

Final quality checks
Milled rice is checked before packing.

Packed according to confirmed buyer requirements.

Stored and loaded for dispatch against confirmed orders.

Packed and marked the way the buyer asks.
Rice is packed in 26 kg and 50 kg bags. Lamination, printing and marking are agreed against a confirmed written requirement, and private-label artwork is supplied and approved by the buyer.

Planning a rice order?
What rice varieties does SONIK offer?
Parboiled, raw and Sortex rice in Miniket, Swarna and Ratna, together with broken-rice fractions — khud, grader and rejection — and processing by-products, rice bran and rice husk. Twelve products are listed in the range. Availability and specification for any variety are confirmed at the time of enquiry.
Can I request a product specification sheet?
Specifications are confirmed in writing against a specific requirement rather than published as standard offers. Send the variety, quantity, packing and destination, and the specification is confirmed against that enquiry.
Does SONIK accept bulk wholesale enquiries?
Yes. The mill supplies wholesalers and distributors, institutional and government buyers, exporters and importers, food processors and by-product buyers. The Dealer & Bulk Enquiry form is set up for exactly this.
Can SONIK discuss buyer-specific packing?
Yes, within two bag sizes: SONIK packs in 26 kg and 50 kg bags only. Material, lamination, printing and marking are agreed against a confirmed written requirement. Private-label artwork, brand names and label claims are supplied and approved by the buyer; SONIK does not create brand names or label claims on a buyer’s behalf.
Can I request a product sample?
Samples are reviewed individually where requested. A sample request can be raised from any product page or through the enquiry form.
What information is required for a quotation?
Variety and process, the finish you want, maximum broken percentage and moisture, quantity, packing, delivery basis and destination, and any inspection or documentation you need. With those in hand we reply with availability and commercial terms.
Does SONIK handle export enquiries?
Yes. SONIK holds an Importer Exporter Code and an APEDA RCMC as a manufacturer exporter, registered for the non-basmati and basmati categories. Export documentation is prepared against the confirmed order.
Which commercial terms can be discussed?
Ex-mill, delivered, FCA, FOB, CFR and CIF can be discussed. Terms are recorded in writing before production is scheduled.
